Gemini New Moon – Protection Lost
Hello there. I’m back. Thank you for your patience, your outreach and your interest in sharing what I love.
It’s been an action-packed couple of months, including life-and-death events within my inner circle and some serious recalibration of what constitutes security for me.
Here’s a dirty little secret…
I started studying Astrology and Tarot in my twenties after almost fifteen years of practicing palmistry exclusively because they offered additional guidance about what to expect at key moments along life’s path.
I wanted the map to tell me what bumps lay ahead and how to navigate cliffs, missing bridges, and any other road hazards life might offer. Throughout my twenties, I made some pretty big life choices that turned out badly. I failed at my marriage, failed at my own business, and wanted to avoid more crash-and-burn scenarios.
Then I doubled down on Astrology because I wanted to help others avoid the pitfalls I had walked into blindly. While I rebuilt myself in corporate America and regained some self-confidence, I quietly practiced my twin passions on the side without needing to be paid. It became an incredible education. Working with so many people in real-life situations taught me far more than theory. It gave me practical insight into how people could make better choices of their own. It felt good to help others succeed where I had failed so miserably.
And now all of that is changing.
Of course, we’re always changing. It’s just that right now we’re in a period of major evolutionary shift unlike anything seen in roughly 6,000 years. Uranus has entered Gemini, and Chiron is preparing to enter Taurus later this week, beginning a foundational chapter that builds upon the last eight years in particular.
This Gemini New Moon is the first New Moon with Uranus now residing in Gemini. Think back to May of 2018, because that Moon cycle marked the beginning of Uranus entering Taurus. An important character in our story is Chiron, which has been in Aries since April of 2018.
Now let me flesh out the plot a bit.
Uranus is the blinding lightning strike that suddenly illuminates everything hidden in the dark. In Gemini, it calls our thinking into question. Of Gemini’s mythical twins, one is human and one is immortal. Uranus shines its light on where our limited survival thinking inevitably leads toward death—that very human side of Gemini.
You know the thinking: struggle to the death, me against you, needing to defeat someone in order to secure enough resources to survive.
It’s a bit unsettling to discover parts of ourselves that have quietly lived in the shadows, out of sight and out of mind. Hint: maybe an argument that felt like life or death because you had to prove you were right?
Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
We have to integrate our humanity so we can consciously move through it. The other side of the coin is discovering the perspective that outlasts individual conflicts and rises beyond winners and losers. When we surrender what we once believed was protection, an entirely new world of possibilities opens before us. There is a lot of life beyond the walls of our safe places waiting for you to discover more abundance.
While Uranus traveled through Taurus, it chipped away at proven security patterns. You know, the places where you automatically do what has always produced results.
If I want to win, I do these things.
You don’t even think much about it because it has become standard operating procedure—and it worked for most people.
Those patterns were informed by Chiron in Aries over the last eight years: the original wound we cannot heal but instead must integrate and elevate if we are to move beyond mere survival. It brought every one of us back to that young place—the powerless child within.
Chiron and Uranus have been working together to help us evolve beyond making crucial life decisions from that wounded state.
Look back at what you’ve experienced since April and May of 2018. See for yourself what surfaced. Chances are, it wasn’t especially comfortable.
Chiron in Aries often appears as the young, impulsive urge to do what you want, say what you want, and be who you want. Then it meets resistance and correction from every direction. Or perhaps it succeeded for a while but eventually locked us into the mindset of “my way or the highway.”
We are meant to be authentic.
And yet we still have to consider how that authenticity lands with those around us. Maturity requires us to adapt either our delivery or our audience. It isn’t simply me versus you.
None of us can do this alone.
Where have your choices to do things your way come at a cost? Or conversely, where have you gone along with someone else’s way without allowing your own voice to be heard?
As Chiron prepares to move into Taurus, you have the opportunity to discover where repeatable, sustainable results come from as you combine your unique nature with the best ways to engage the world around you.
At the same time, it blocks many of the familiar routes to success.
You must either change what you do or change how you do it.
Same old, same old won’t play.
I’ve said that before, but now you’ll begin to understand why.
If you’re standing in a powerless place, you become stuck as the victim.
Ouch.
If you’re willing to consider fresh approaches, voilà—you’ll discover you’re far smarter, more adept than you realized and possess far more resources than you knew.
There is a learning curve.
Sigh.
You’ve heard me say that for a while now.
Uranus in Gemini gives you the ability to actually see whether your patterns keep you moving on a closing spiral (contraction always leads to an endpoint—the human twin) or an opening spiral (expansion creates more choices, more interactions, and more possibilities—the eternal twin).
To add to all of this, we have our very own signature attractor, Venus, undergoing quite a process—and on a fast track, too. Venus makes a string of contacts over the next couple of weeks that strongly underlines this process.
Remember, perfection isn’t the goal. The goal is discovering the uniqueness within you that gets lost inside familiar, secure routines.
Mars moves into Gemini after turtling along through Taurus these past weeks. Suddenly our bodies begin acting out the contrast between the human and the divine.
It means you lose the certainty of predictable outcomes built around familiar habits during this next phase.
Where Taurus and Gemini fall within your own chart helps identify which life topics are most likely to feel the pressure to change.
Yet we’re all walking through this learning curve together.
Everyone is doing this.
The outer planets are harmonized in support of our evolution beyond survival and dog-eat-dog thinking.
That requires a shift.
And it requires a release.
As you let go of familiar landmarks of predictability, an entirely new world opens before you. You get to play there, choosing companions who are interesting, challenging, comparable, or deeply supportive along the way.
Where are you still committed to win-or-lose thinking?
And where are you ready to move beyond it?
I know that for me, these last couple of months brought surprises that all the research in the world could never have prepared me for.
Sometimes it’s the unguarded moments that reveal who we truly are.
I caught myself inside some deeply distressing human emotions—ones that couldn’t simply be navigated from the ten-thousand-foot perspective my mind so loves to occupy.
These feelings were raw.
They were real.
They brought me to my knees.
Once I allowed myself to feel them, I then had to decide what to do with everything that surfaced.
The battle was real.
In some cases, I wanted justice—badly.
Except I still don’t have all the details.
So how can I truly assess what a fair outcome or path forward looks like?
Instead, I have to keep moving forward with all these emotions and allow their shape to emerge, like a sculpture slowly revealed as blocks of misunderstanding are chipped away, one piece at a time.
My impatience is real.
So is the opportunity to practice restraint while comforting the parts of me that never learned how to express these deep feelings safely or comfortably.
I have support, and I feel enormous gratitude for that support.
We’re moving forward slowly, in the dark, holding hands.
It feels good, even when it feels bad.
So I wholeheartedly wish for you the opportunity to discover who your tribe truly is without making everyone else the enemy.
Can you wish those who are “other” than you well, without forced agreement or opposition? Or at least find a neutral point that trusts they have a purpose you may not understand yet?
When we learn to do that, what a world we’ll have.
I believe it’s possible.
The cards and the stars will help.
Thank you,
Lisa Greenfield

In closing…
As we move through this Gemini New Moon cycle, we find ourselves standing in a very particular kind of threshold—where old mental maps no longer guarantee safety, but new awareness is beginning to form in real time. What once felt like protection may now feel like limitation, and what once felt like uncertainty may quietly reveal itself as possibility.
From both of us, Mike and Lisa, the invitation is simple: stay present with what is shifting in your thoughts, your conversations, and your inner narrative. You don’t have to force clarity—you only need to notice what is no longer convincing you. Let the mind open slowly. Let meaning reorganize itself without urgency.
This is a cycle where language becomes destiny, and awareness becomes direction. The more honestly you listen, the more intelligently life responds.
We’ll meet you again in the next turning of the sky.
