This Moon is called the Full Worm Moon by the old Farmer’s Almanac. It is a time when the budding of all kinds of life begins in blind form, tunneling through solid earth. You don’t have to see where you are going. Like blind worms, your progress makes more life possible as you move through obstacles and obstructions even if you can’t view the outcome from here. Nature is refining your homing system.
Your instinctive desires are being dialed up right after this Full Moon, so first we have the emotional housecleaning. The Moon is in a Grand Trine (easy change) relationship with Pluto and the North Node. Since the North Node expands whatever it touches, cleaning emotional debris and scar tissue is almost unavoidable.
It is time to invite your inner bullies to tea or coffee. They started out trying to protect you. Often those mean voices use ‘should’ or ‘shouldn’t’ to push you into a mind driven decision. Your love and belonging is at stake if you don’t conform. You may feel a bit of a fever pitch as the intensity ratchets up, only to see the breakthrough this Moon Cycle.
Watch for mind versus heart. You have an instinctive self. It knows what you want. Now it’s time to expand how you meet or honor those desires. Perfectionism, tribal mentality, survival fears are all tucked in corners in the basement. When Pluto gets in the picture, those corners cannot stay unseen any longer. With a Grand Trine it can be an easier clean out, but it’s still work. So make it as fun as possible. Think of the reward on the other side of your effort. Which parts of you did those coping skills box in down in the basement behind the fears and doubts? Since Venus and Uranus meet up right after this Full Moon, it’s a fresh start when you unleash those original passions.
Give those passions a whole new playing field. One where you don’t have to bully or be bullied to enjoy what you love. Give them room to untwist. Imagine a world where obstacles simply help you refine what you love enough to overcome them. They are a gym that builds muscle to get you connected with the object of desire. Or maybe those blocks help you discover what you don’t want enough to work at it. Everything serves you when you begin by knowing what lights you up. Passion can do that. Which is why the fear brain uses tricky coping skills to limit what you love. Love opens up new worlds and fear mostly sees danger in the unknown.
Which is why this is a good time to revive a version of the Golden Rule. No, not “He who has the gold rules”. The other one that says you don’t treat someone else in a manner you wouldn’t want for you. Where’s your original generosity, curiosity, optimism and faith? Don’t point to the world and say they don’t belong in that madness.
The world is a reflection of us. Start small. Find a few people you can trust and begin there. Live the Margaret Meade quote. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world, indeed it is the only thing that ever has”. Ah, the mind is the great label maker. It sorts things into neat little boxes and likes labels for everything. Contrast is one of its favorite things and this Knight is the Prince of Contrast. Mercury is in Pisces opposite this Full Moon. The Moon sits all alone in the sky across from all that activity in the heavens on the opposite side. This celestial stew wants our fears to stand out like flies on a white wall. They are impossible to miss if you just look. Which is why the noble Prince of Swords reminds us that our mind is the great separator.
Watch how your thoughts or the opinions of another separate you from what you love. We have Venus trapped between Mars and Saturn. Often this means desire delayed or denied. What do you do when this happens. This is not a time repeat old patterns. It’s a time to free yourself from them. What skills, tools, understanding do you have now to help you connect with what you love? Can you do it from a healthy place? Watch for denying yourself or another what they love. Rather this is a space where creativity is rewarded. Collaboration instead of compromise wins the day.
It’s vital that you dig deeper on what you think you want. There’s the surface picture of it, then there are deeper motivations. Give yourself time and space to see it all. You are worth your time and this is important. Passion is the fuel of life itself. Passion denied gets twisted and distorted. It starts to deny others their desires because misery loves company. When you get to the core of the drive you get to your life force. Then tend it carefully and nurture that part of you so it grows straight and true. It will flood your world with life force. Build it carefully so that is a loving space for you and those around you.
3/19/22 three of cups
This heartfelt three is a reminder to be kind today, in thought word and deed. Start with you. It’s all too easy to see where you paid price of belonging thanks to today’s celestial stew. Which makes it a good day to pay attention to the inner bullies. It’s easier to see the pattern and still keep a kind perspective. Invite those feelings of anger, resentment, grief over lost opportunities to share fully. You may even find that you even convinced yourself you didn’t want what you really wished for, just because it was so difficult.
A funny thing happens when you bring those forgotten bits to the light of day. You may also see where you turned around and expected others to do the same thing as you. If you gave up what you wanted ‘for the good of all’ then you tend to want those around you to validate it by doing the same thing. Those expectations can be subtle. Patience and attention bring them all to the table. Serve them some metaphorical tea (or coffee, or wine) and let them have a place.
When you allow more of you to the party, desires start uncurling. As they open up, more of you becomes part of the your daily mix. Manage your emotions. You don’t want to drown in them. Bring a life preserver in the form of a journal, a trusted friend or a service animal. This three says sorrow shared is sorrow halved.
3/20/22 ace of swords spring solstice
The Moon squares off with Pluto as the clean out party continues. This blade helps you cut free of sticky attachments to old stories that don’t define you anymore. As we start Spring with the Sun moving into Aries, a fresh start requires clean cuts. Mercury meets up with Jupiter in Pisces tonight which can be a double edged sword. On the down side it can have you swimming in ‘poor me’ moments. You do require some kindness and compassion. Which is the adult version of self pity.
The difference is whether or not you see yourself as a victim of all that happened or a strong survivor who learned in spite of your challenges. Acknowledge the pain. See the difficulties. Do it with an eye to being proud of yourself. Where necessary, ask your wise self to go back and whisper in your younger self’s ear that you are there with them. The you of today made it and something in you knew and kept going, no matter how hard. So cut away any part of your story that has you helpless. It’s not true. Then be sure to kiss what hurts and give yourself some loving attention for those tender past pain points.

What a volatile combination of possibilities today, my friend. This card invites you to remember “the whole is greater than the sum of the parts”. What you do with any moment can magically change what came before and what came after. It was Wayne Dyer who pointed out that when you look at things differently the things you look at change. There are real shifts available in how you see yourself and anything that happens today. Look for the magic. It may be subtle, but it’s there. Stay open to the moment, pause and choose whatever you think, do or say today mindfully.
It makes all the difference when you start letting your whole self make decisions instead of conditioned patterns driving a choice. Whether you realize it or not you feel safer when the adult in you is in charge. You can tune in to how others feel without it swamping you. There is a better flow of give and receive between you and others. Once you feel the electricity of that bigger exchange, it can be intoxicating. Pay attention if your fear brain tries to ‘should’ on you. Don’t give it the power. Just thank it for sharing and stay in the bigger arena of possibilities.

Okay, time to hip check the rebellious teenager from taking the wheel today. You get to have them chime in, and they still aren’t good in the driver’s seat. You may find yourself going left if someone says go right, just to prove they aren’t the boss of you. Except that doesn’t really need to be proven. As long as you know the adult in your head is in charge, the rest of the world will figure it out soon. So manage those impulses, keep the faith and by night time optimism and humor may help you laugh at the silliness of the day.
3/23/22 the fool
There is optimism and inspiration floating around today. It can feel you are chasing feathers. So stand still and let them land with the light fluff of good feelings. That light touch can soothe as you feel the call of expansion. This card signals the leap of faith and an innocence available for the path ahead. Fresh eyes, ones not heavy with the threat of what might happen, let you take first steps.
Trust and stay open to life as you find it, knowing how much you’ve lived and learned from already. There are adventures ahead. Which ones make your heart beat faster. Allow the possibility that challenges will simply reveal how much more ability you have to weather life’s storms than you knew you possessed. There is fun, excitement and yes some losses ahead. But to risk nothing is not life. When you know what is worth risking for in life you have gold in hand.
3/24/22 Lovers
Choice is always a topic when the Lovers card appears. With Eris, the Goddess of Discord in easy aspect to Moon in Sagittarius, your wise self can help you incorporate the less appealing parts. Those parts may be disgruntled, resentful, wounded or young. Now that they’ve been let out of the basement and have a place in the conversation, they may want to dominate. What an excellent opportunity to practice hearing them without giving into less than healthy demands.
Revenge is not helpful. Causing another pain does not make the world a safer or kinder place, even if it feels triumphant int he moment. It also isn’t helpful to suffer in silence either. Choice means you find a way to include those uncomfortable emotions that is creative. You may surprise yourself with how innovative a solution is possible when you start with the belief that all your emotions have a purpose. Go hunting for that purpose and the solution may appear in unexpected ways when you love all of you.

This Seven is well represented by Mercury/Uranus aspects tonight. Everything that exists today was once just a thought in someone’s mind. Which of your thoughts are you willing to follow through on to completion? With Chiron in the mix, we may have a crisis of confidence. Some of that has to do with perfection issues. Hiding behind perfection can be a way to postpone taking a risk. Because it is always perfect in thought form and may fall short in actuality. Why not try thinking of it as sculpting? This way you remove what you don’t find beautiful bit by bit. Doesn’t that feel much better than failing to even try?

Self confidence is the name of the game when this pretty princess shows up. We have a stack of aspects today that first help us feel strong then turn around and challenge our balance. Think of it as practice. Each time you find your balance and then get tested you strengthen your instincts. One good tip is to really savor those moments where it all clicks. Feel it. Now doesn’t that fit well on you? Like a tailor made outfit, your confidence makes you look and feel your best. Once you know that, you can’t ever unknow it. If you find yourself off balance, give your mind a command to find its way back to that feeling of self trust. Great, now you are ready for whatever comes.

Centered individualism is the message for the day. Strength is a reminder that persuasion rather than force can work magic. In traditional Tarot decks the picture is the lady pulling a thorn out of a lion’s paw. This is the perfect reminder that when people lash out, they are often in pain. Instead of lashing back you can help them remove the pain and everyone wins. You can only do that when you make a practice of honoring your own wounds and tending them.
One great practice is to imagine your adult self going back to help your younger self. Focus on what you feel, not on what happened to you. Comfort yourself first. That alone may be all the inspiration someone needs to do that for themselves. Either way, you make it a practice to feel what you feel before jumping to defense or offense. Sometimes pain just needs a kind witness in order to feel better. Be that witness for yourself and you can do it more easily for another. Then everyone wins.

This far sighted King is the visionary of the deck. It’s a reminder that the future is out in front of us. What we do moves it closer or farther away. Oddly enough the aspects today speak to greed and wanting more than what we can possibly use. So the counsel is to discover what ‘enough’ is for you. This way you don’t have to measure and count out what someone else receives.
Because, when someone else benefits, there is not less for you. What is there for you is always and forever a part of you. You cannot miss what is yours. However you can squander it, devalue it and rush to get more before you even savor what you have. It is normal to want more, but the best way to achieve it is to connect with what you have, right now. Be grateful and enjoy all that is yours today.

Today is a quieter day astrologically, which gives us time to rest and reflect. Temperance is the card of deep healing. As such is also reminds us that wounds heal in their own time. Good care which includes down time is a vital part of that. This is a busy Moon Cycle with a lot of deep issues being brought to the surface. Why not carve out some quiet time today, you’ve earned it. Put your hands on your heart and your belly. Really drink in a thousand little shifts along with any bigger, more noticeable ones, that you have experienced the last little while. Ah, good for you. That’s how you heal…
3/30/22 ace of wands
This is the second Ace in the Moon Cycle. Two aces together mean union as the Moon meets up with Jupiter in Pisces. The call to unity consciousness is always there. What will your answer be? This means that even those you disagree with have a place in the world. When I get frustrated with ‘the other’ I try to picture us as all part of one body. The elbow doesn’t do the same thing the toes do. My ears don’t do what my pancreas does. While some people may be doing their part in a way I object to, it’s still their job and not mine to accomplish.
So how can I be the best me I can be and inspire others to do the same. By not rejecting the person even if I reject the behavior. I get to say what does and doesn’t work for me. My job is to focus on not judging others while I do it. Unjudging has become an almost full time job these days. Yet it is worthy work. In order for behavior to change you have to maintain self esteem. Whether that is yours or anyone else’s esteem, the more solid it is the more adaptation is healthy. What a good note to finish this cycle on and prepare for the first New Moon of the Spring tomorrow.
