If I had to pick a label for this time in history, I’d call it the time of feeling your way. This Full Moon has Mercury in Taurus sitting right behind Uranus, the Great Awakener. Our bodies have something to say, although the mind likes to take center stage most of the time. Because our thoughts are linear and predictive. They like certainty. Like the ‘if this happens then that will happen’ line of reasoning. Except we are in a place in time where you simply cannot predict things based on what’s worked in the past. That is true from the ground up all the way to the top. This Sagittarius Full Moon offers a mix of things to coax us out of our norms and destabilize our security in the interest of growth. How much fun you have depends entirely on your approach.
We cannot escape the impact we have on our world around us and its impact on us. That exchange is visible almost everywhere you look. Based on what you search for and watch, the internet serves up more and more and more of the same. This Full Moon cycle disrupts you to get you out of those silos of familiarity. Things will break down or get tangled in increasingly costly effort if you try to double down on doing the same old. The Universe is not mean, nor is it punishing you for bad behavior. No matter how big the threats from any religious communities (A Sagittarius theme of extremism), our bodies and desires have important information for us. Balance requires they be a healthy part of the conversation.
We have natural limits to what we can consume, yet we see enormous stockpiling of all kinds of wealth. Corporations cut corners for more profit that cost taxpayers far more to correct as they come to light. Governments seek to stay in power with power grabs that rarely succeed beyond their lifetimes, if even that long. History shows us repeatedly that the balance of power goes to extreme polarities before the equal and opposite correction comes in to balance it. We are living in that time of rebalance. But all you need to do to bring about the healthier norm is find your own. That’s no small ‘but’, I know.
This Full Moon is going to dial up security fears along with desires. The tension of opposites is like a diamond from coal or pearls from gritty irritation in an oyster. It’s not comfortable to make these changes. But it can feel good to let your body into the conversation more. In fact it can feel very good alongside the feeling of weird. Do you need a nap instead of pushing through to get it all done in a day? Or do you need to get moving and do one thing that scares you today instead of putting it off again?
Yes it may produce anxiety as you step outside your familiar pattern. What’s available is the small micro corrections that help you bring a more well rounded existence into being. Because when you do it for you, and each person makes those corrections, the shift happens and ripples out into the world around you. Your mind may ramp up and take you to exhaustion point this week. We can’t think our way forward, we have to feel.
Pay attention to body cues. When you’re tired, stand on earth and breathe for a moment if you can’t stop long enough to nap. Drink fresh water, be sure it’s quality and hydrate yourself. Fatigue can often happen when you are low on good water! Take time to talk to people you love. Listen to them too. Hear each other. Not to fix whatever they are walking through, rather to be present with them while they do the hard stuff. The mind wants to solve things now. The body knows that change that is gradual is lasting and healthier. Balance the often unnecessary mind push with the slow breath of the body as you try on the new things you desire and find what fits you best as you are now.
When you do that this Moon Cycle, you make precious adjustments that will give back more than they cost. They bless you and those around you. So feel your way. Hear what your body has to say and invest in that dialogue instead of a quasi dictatorship. The Cards and Stars will help. Thank you,
Lisa Greenfield
6/3 Sagittarius Full moon – knight of pentacles
This patient knight stands in contrast to the eight of cups, which has shown up frequently of late. The difference is the eight symbolizes the tide going out and a back and forth movement as things recede. This Knight moves in an altogether different pattern. Slowly but surely we replace what no longer serves us, what we have outgrown with more of what suits us now. Choice by choice you solidly map out a way forward. Pentacles are body, so it’s the wisdom of our senses that drives positive change. For example, I was on with a friend describing a problem. Per usual, I offered up several solutions for improvement. This time it felt off. I gave advice out of habit, not to answer a request. My body tension while I was speaking alerted me to the imbalance.
It wasn’t dramatic. I could have raced past it. But this Full Moon is in Sagittarius. Which means Jupiter and what it does has a strong effect on our inner landscape. Jupiter is in a sweet collaboration with Saturn, so our limitations have something of long lasting value to offer us. Yet it is square to Pluto, which means we have to stay open to change. Squares are the nature of Mars and too much or little action costs you.
Back to the Knight of Pentacles. It’s the slowest moving of the four Knights which always stand for action. Slowly but surely, recalibrate what you do and why you do it the way you do. Our body is the one place where we are visible to all. It’s the physical meeting place for us in this world. And yet so many people still live in their minds or in tribal survival think.
The tribe is evolving. The mind is the servant. Give it a job to do. Tell your mind to notice immediately what your body reaction is and then separate our expansion fears from any real actual threat. Remember our mind will overestimate a threat to keep you in safe territory, no matter how uncomfortable you are. It is lightning fast while the body requires a slower pace. When you breathe into expansion fear it becomes excitement and anticipation. Breathing allows those multitude of thoughts to land inside of us instead of spinning us around.
So do keep that breathing going, right? Step by step you expand into new territory and learn how to navigate it with others so our expansion weaves a stronger community as it grows, little bit by little bit. Breath is key, so keep it simple and your breath will take care of you…
6/4 six of cups
Mercury and Uranus meet up today in Taurus and combined with this Six, you can quite definitely let go of the stories from childhood. Not the good memories, but rather the limiting beliefs that came out of not being in command of your environment or world. There are needs, wants and desires that were sidelined or abandoned altogether in order to belong. This aspect offers you a chance to reclaim them, with a little push from a Moon/Eris meet up. Six has to do with wholeness and cups with emotions. Time to put the humpty dumpty of your emotional puzzle back in one place.
Those pieces won’t go back together the same way but they are all you and can help create a gorgeous mosaic that is more you for the reconstruction. Those feeling cannot be ignored. In fact they’ve leaked into our present day in all kinds of unattractive ways. Once you acknowledge them and give them a place, they stop highjacking seemingly innocent conversations with past grievances and wrong doings. Don’t worry if you get some opposition within or without. A little resistance helps build the strength of conviction. What’s yours is worth standing up for, even the scruffier bits. Once they get their place in your emotional mosaic, they can lend a beauty to the whole. Be as patient and kind with your process as you wish you’d been treated in childhood. Then be as brave as you need to meet the world, knowing you have your own back.
6/5 ten of swords
There is no escaping the green eyed monster today. This ten of swords is a sure hallmark that your mind can give you a thousand deaths before your body ever approaches the end. But there is good news. What is ours can never be taken from us. Scarcity mentality casts a long shadow that you can somehow be without. The Moon going into Capricorn can be ruthless in it’s pursuit of perfection. Whatever does not meet stringent requirements calls out control or distance. From one extreme to the other, those pesky little coping skills to keep us safe from apparent loss will make their appearance.
Get conversational with your coping skills, please. What value is something that is not freely given to you? How long can anything last if it must be held hostage to keep it secure. Focus on building blocks that are long lasting and sure. Do you know what you feel and what you need? Can you offer that in a vulnerable ask and be met? Watch out for rush to judgement. It can be a mind trick to measure results on that ask immediately, when in truth the outcomes need to unfold in time. So the four horsemen to watch for today are control, distancing, rushing to judgement and, of course, the lies your mind tells you about any of these coping skills making things better than they are.
Whatever it is today that causes you to feel the threat of loss, be present, curious, patient. It’s less about the situation than it is about a fear prison you can break out of starting today. What’s yours can never be lost. This ten is where the feeling of betrayal has kept you crippled. All betrayal begins as self betrayal. Where do you need to respect yourself, love yourself enough to speak your truth in a way that is likely to be heard? When you learn how to do that, it goes into muscle memory. So when the fears come up today take it as a chance to be on your side without needing to be victim. While not all desires are met the way you imagined, they are still a vital part of you and may need a bigger expression than the one way you picture it.
Move from powerless to empowered when you see and honor your feelings and needs. Victim thinking means we require our own attention first. Gabor Mate says you can never get enough of what almost works. Victim thinking is trying to get outside validation for an internal state that requires YOUR validation first. Once you do that, the outside efforts morph into support instead of sympathy. They add their care to your own. But first you need your own attention on what hurts, what matters and letting go of old stories that still wound but cost you in your present life. You can stay wounded or you can learn and move forward wiser for it. You decide. Measure progress, not perfection and give it all time.
6/6 high priestess
Intuition is the sense of things we have that extends beyond our lived experience. In other words, we don’t know what’s around the corner but we can feel its pull. Intuition rarely turns out to look like what we imagine, but it’s the very act of imagining that brings new things into being. Almost everything in our world started out as an idea first. So today you get to explore where you can go beyond what you imagined. In fact, it may help to ask your mind to show you the limits of what you learned was possible in childhood.
Once you do that, you can start to rework those beliefs into a more tailored system for you as you are now. Your desires and intuitive guidance can help flesh out something you enjoy wearing. It’s going to be a combination of what feels good and what is maddeningly unfamiliar. Feel your way! What draws you, what do you long for?? Don’t worry, practice will help you get more comfortable with unknown as it becomes a new habit. You can tailor these beliefs and habits as you go. Small steps, forward motion. That’s the name of the game. Feel your way.
6/7 three of cups
Remember the theme of feeling your way? It’s a good one to keep front and center today. There are challenging aspects all over the place. The need for change is present like a guest you didn’t expect but brings good things that throw off your carefully planned party. Disruption is highly likely. So what will you do with what knocks you off balance? What stories will you tell about it? Be sure you see your ability to make good use of what’s on hand. Explore which resources are available that weren’t in the mix before. Or at least they weren’t in the mix the way they are today. Watch where you gauge losses more than gains. That’s survival thinking to focus on what you give up.
Most importantly, pay attention to how your body feels when you tell a story about what’s happening. If your body contracts and gears up for a battle, you are heading in the wrong direction. This three is about enjoyment, fun and letting lightness into the party. If there is something bing displaced that matters to you, then find a way to creatively bring it along or schedule it for its own party out of respect for what you love. So if you find yourself in a power struggle outside of you, take inventory inside of you. Because your wise self may want you let in more than your control or fearful coping skills has felt comfortable with up until now. Find what feels good and follow that… Learn how to weave that into your life in a constructive way.
6/8 page of cups
How you navigate your internal weather is on deck today. The pages represent our inner state of being that precedes action we see when the knights appear. This page speaks to our emotional and creative urges. The aspects today help you navigate freeing yourself to do things from a fresh perspective. Don’t be surprised if you hit a few bumps by evening. They are just there to test how well you champion yourself.
Can you assure yourself that you are right to feel what you do while staying open to how to plug those feelings in so they help more than they hurt? Bring it back to the inner dialogue, whatever happens today. Give yourself your own quality attention for what you feel and need. When you trust you are on your side, you’re flexible with how to express it more likely to take another’s input as creative contribution instead of opposition. See where you can play with that concept today. Whoever disagrees or sees it differently can add something to the mix. It doesn’t have to change your direction, but it can refine the journey for you.
6/9 The Sun
The Moon moves into Pisces today offer a soft ocean to land in after the rocky heights of the last few days. Since the Sun brightens whatever it touches, there is enough light to see how to gently move forward. The shadow of the Sun is ego, but with the Moon in Pisces to help soothe heated thoughts, you can pull just enough egoic strength to encourage growth without scorching what it sees. The Moon meets up with Saturn to reinforce the long term habit of thinking kindly of what we encounter, both within and without.
Slowly but surely the days have more light than dark in them. This gradual dawning of greater light helps you navigate change without rush. Follow those good feelings, even the challenges can feel good when you meet them and succeed. It’s about choosing which challenges are yours to encounter for growth and adventure. Then it’s about choosing how to shape them. You often have far more input in your day than you consciously grasp. Let the light shine on surprising corners of that today.
6/10 three of wands
This is the second three in the lunar cycle. This combination reinforces the importance of choice. You have choices, always. You may not like the options but there are always options. The aspects today encourage us to add the practice of inventory taking to our weekly schedule. Whether it’s on a drive you have to make or a chore that routinely occurs, why not piggy back a command to have your mind bring up what needs adjustments after the lessons learned this week.
See where you can fine tune the conversation between your body and the rest of you. This is what brings wholeness about for you. It ensures the heart, mind, body and intuition all get a voice. This three is intuitive guidance that pays off when followed. Spirit (intuition) takes all the parts and uses them as fuel to transform them into light and heat. Which is why you want to tap into what you are doing and how well it works for you. There is real benefit to constructing your life in a way that works best for you and through you. This three promises your ship is about to come in when you do.
6/11 the fool
Ah, the leap of faith is required when the Fool shows up. Today’s aspects are going to ask just that from you. There is a gap between what you want to accomplish and what you feel you actually need and can do. It’s easier to fall back on structures that are tried and true than it is to step forward into the unknown. Mercury moves into Gemini bringing about mental dialogue that can be mind numbing. We shut down with too many options to choose from and some of them can appear downright awful.
Manage your mind. Direct it. When the Moon rolls into Aries around dawn, there is a well spring of courage to tap. What would you try if you didn’t think it could fail? Got it? Good, now try a step in that direction. Even a step can be a leap of faith. This is about consciously reprogramming the part of your that fears the unknown. Big dramatic pushes mostly backfire. So bite size allows your nervous system to adjust to the being a little outside the lines. Try that. Practice it and let your whole self adjust to deciding your future instead of jamming yourself inside a predictive little box of what used to be possible.
6/12 the mother star
Today’s aspects and card all point to the same thing. We need to be our own internal mother today. It’s the place where we feel safe enough to allow new information in when it appears. The wounded feminine guards against change as an unfamiliar threat to well being. We simply don’t feel safe enough to accept a fresh point of view or path of action. It’s the old adage of “A ship in the harbor is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for’ today. You were uniquely designed and constructed to sail through life, even on stormy seas. Time to explore and locate the part of you that knows that and strengthen your connection to that knowing. Out of that strength, new adventures and the life you were born to lead unfold.
6/13 ace of swords
Time for a little mental pruning today. The aspects will serve up those irritating power struggles within us that show up outside of us so we can address them. Notice what irritates and you and dig into what rubs? I promise you that unmet needs can show up as expectations that others are doomed to fail at meeting. Get busy trimming away anything that is in the way of a vulnerable ask for what you need in order to honor the feelings that go with that need.
When you can do that, you may well see the fears shout louder. And know they reveal themselves as they do. Then get to work with those pruning shears. Doubt your doubts, push back on fears and sort out what is useful from what is mostly security or control driven. Power is the opposite of control and is more than equal to any task before you. Find yours when you trim away whatever is not that.
6/14 four of swords
The Moon is in a challenging square to both Venus and Mars today serving up a competition for desires over security. What we long for is what tempts us to stretch into unfamiliar places. Fear has us scurry back to the known. Your mind is likely to be worn out by it all. This four often signals time for rest is required. At the very least, your mind needs a break. So find something you can do that is muscle memory and do that for a little bit. I might even recommend a little television break but with quality input. “Kiss The Ground” on Netflix or “Ted Lasso” on Apple TV can soothe the soul and uplift the heart. Whatever you choose, this sets a pattern for you. So choose something restful that is worthy of you. You deserve nothing less…
6/15 six of wands
This is the second six, just as we had two threes. So today you get to celebrate the success of your choices. Give yourself credit for what you’ve done. Why not go into the bathroom and high five yourself in the mirror. Or pat yourself on the back. Life needs to include a few victory dances. What rituals do you have where you make that a priority?? Mercury squares off with Saturn, which means it’s easier to downplay your accomplishments. You will have to make a conscious effort to include your wins, even the little ones, into your day. Life offers plenty of places that wear down self confidence or optimism. You want to have a game plan to honor those brave choices, no matter how they turned out. That’s where the ‘marriage’ represented by two sixes symbolizes the union of your head and heart, inner and outer world.
6/16 page of pentacles
We began this Moon cycle with the Knight of Pentacles standing for slow steady progress in a direction that benefits us. We end the cycle with the card that precedes it, the Page. So we circle back to the plain truth. Your inner world is always at your command. Even when emotional triggers happen, you can revisit the feelings, stories, beliefs and update that based on all that is around you now. Saturn turns retrograde starting tomorrow and doesn’t head straight again until November 4th. Saturn is our strength through limitation and lessons learned. This combined with the Page assures you that you have everything you require within you to help make your world more of what you wish it to be.
The Gemini Moon squares Saturn so it’s easy to feel discouraged when our brilliant ideas and plans don’t immediately solve those deep, long standing wounds. Comfort your mind and rest assured, some of those clever solutions will be included. It simple takes time to get the heart and body onboard for lasting benefits. By all means, be kind to the racing mind. Because it really wants to help! Reassure yourself that thinking is only one part of the four part equation of resources you have. This way you can help it feel included and important but supported by heart and body especially. Over the next few months Saturn retrograde in Pisces can help us all get to a healthier, integrated version of who we are. It’s an inside job and you can do it… I know you can.
