🌑 Virgo New Moon – Whole (New) You
This Virgo New Moon is charged with transformation. Shocks, shake-ups, and sudden turns are woven through the cycle—not to punish you, but to break you loose from complacency and outdated roles you’ve outgrown. It’s Liberation Time
With both the Sun and Moon in Virgo squaring Uranus in Gemini, the skies insist on action. Uranus, the Great Liberator, asks us to shed identities that no longer fit and step into the moment, fresh and alive.
✨ Prompt: When life swerves, pause and ask: “Who am I right now, in this moment?”
🌱 Virgo: The Threshold of Growth
Virgo, the Maiden, is the final personal-growth sign before Libra ushers us into the shared world. The maiden originally was seen as whole and fertile enough to step into partnership and bear fruit. It is the part of us that belongs first and foremost to ourselves. Much harm is done when we lack solid centers and healthy self understanding and yet fling ourselves into the river of emotion that is partnership.
Because when another shows us their imperfections we are disillusioned and long for the ideal image instead of the real. Only when we own our ability to work with what we want (Venus) and how we achieve it (Mars) more effectively do we discover that we can turn disappointment into fertile ground to make real what was just an illusion. This Moon tests our inner structures:
- Mars squares Jupiter in Cancer, amplifying the ways our choices lead us into confrontations—not necessarily with others, but with our identity inside those connections.
- Mars in Libra softens the urge to fight, while Chiron retrograde in Aries tempts us into angry self-justification. The reroute? Choosing a braver, centered response.
✨ Practice: When anger rises, don’t shame it. Breathe, acknowledge it, then ask: “How can this energy help me take a courageous step forward?”
💕 Venus, Chiron & the Price of Harmony
Venus in Cancer longs for peace, but her square to Chiron reminds us: harmony at all costs is too expensive. As children we adapted to fit in and we may not be aware of how many layers deep those sacrifices go. Time to peel back the layers and get to the core yearning that makes you so uniquely you. Then you can work with your actions (Mars) to go about meeting those longings with more excitement and less fear. The energy there amplifies your magnetic draw and you can then work with a multitude of options around you in so many ways (Uranus in Gemini).
This is a time to decide what truly supports you—and what doesn’t. If a connection can’t meet you in mutual respect, it’s not a loss to release it. Mars in Libra supports you in seeking equity and balance in relationships. Don’t despair the ones that don’t fit. Give them a ritual and release unequal or inequitable partnerships to make room for those who really can collaborate for the big goals. And bring your enthusiasm and curiosity. These feelings are much more available once you release and grieve what doesn’t work.
🌌 Pluto’s Shadow Work
The New Moon also conjuncts Pluto, pulling up old wounds, doubts, and hidden scars. It reveals where trauma has limited your wholeness, so you can choose differently.
With both Venus (desires) and Mars (actions) being tested, perfectionism won’t serve you. Uranus in Gemini invites experimentation. There are countless versions of you available—try one on, see what fits, and let it evolve. Think of it like shoe shopping, take a lap to see if a version works for both comfort and appeal.
✨ Meditation: Sit with the question: “What version of me is ready to emerge now?”

🌟 A Personal Story
Recently, after Mercury Retrograde stirred deeper truths, I had a painful clash with a friend. In his hurt, he lashed out at someone we both love. My first impulse was to suit up, point by point, and fight back.
But in the pause, I asked myself: “Who do I want to be right now?”
What it required was getting underneath what my self-righteousness wanted to do for me. When I looked closer, I found fear beneath the outrage: the fear that I could give my all to someone—as I had seen my friend do for the very person who was now railing against where they’d failed—and still be judged more for where I fell short than for the whole picture.
That realization softened me. It wasn’t about excusing destructive behavior or falling into codependent patterns. I wasn’t giving anyone a hall pass. Rather, it was about holding the whole picture—the best and the worst—in a way that is only possible when I can do the same for myself. None of us want to be judged solely by our worst moments.
Yet accountability matters. We are responsible for acknowledging where we go wrong and choosing to do better, especially if we want to sustain close, meaningful connections. Bad behavior is like razor wire—you can’t safely get close when trauma responses keep shredding those you love.
Once I could embrace my own best and worst, I could offer that perspective to my friend. In doing so, I held hope that he would see he was not defined by his lowest moment either. That possibility—of being witnessed in wholeness—can spark the courage to grow beyond fear, and to repair trust with those who matter most. Voila, the Whole New Me is emerging…
That shift allowed me to respond with boundaries, but also with belief in his better self. Days later, he acknowledged responsibility. The joy in that moment confirmed the power of choice—of saying no to my reactive self and yes to the person I want to grow into. It becomes an invitational space that those I care about want to join.
🔮 How the Story Mirrors the Tarot
- Five of Wands (Heart): The clash with my friend was pure Five of Wands energy—conflict that revealed deeper fears, not to destroy but to teach. My heart had to ask: Is this tension a teacher or a trap?
- The Creator / Sacred No (Spirit): In the pause, I embodied the Sacred No. I said “no” to my reactive righteousness and “yes” to responding from wholeness. That choice created space for growth, accountability, and healing.
Together, these cards illustrated what the Virgo New Moon itself asks of us: to release perfection, confront fear, and make new choices that allow a more whole self to emerge.

The Moon perfects in Virgo, squaring Uranus and conjunct Pluto. Old wounds may surface, but only to be transformed. This is the reset point.

With the Moon in Libra, relationship themes surface. Conversations may spark conflict—but the lesson is to seek clarity, not combat.

🌙 The Takeaway
This Virgo New Moon isn’t about perfection—it’s about wholeness. Ups and downs will surface old patterns so you can choose differently. Even on familiar paths, update your response.
✨ Mantra for the Cycle: I choose who I am in each moment, with every no and every yes shaping the wholeness of me.
What’s on offer is an emergent you—surprising, whole, and inspiring to others. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be true. 🌑💫
🌙 Closing Reflection
Every time we choose to pause, to listen beneath the surface of our reactions, we are rewriting the story of who we are becoming. It isn’t about being flawless—it’s about being present, responsible, and willing to see both the shadows and the light in ourselves and those we love.
The power of the sacred “no” is not rejection—it’s protection. It clears space for a deeper “yes” to connection, growth, and mutual respect.
As we walk forward into this lunar cycle, may we each carry the courage to honor the whole picture in ourselves and others. May our boundaries be strong, our compassion wide, and our trust in transformation unshakable.
✨ And if this story stirred something in you, I invite you to reflect: Where might you be ready to trade the armor of self-righteousness for the freedom of authentic choice? You do it when you make it safe to see what’s hiding inside the armor and bring it safely to the surface to integrate into the WHOLE YOU.
Thank you,
Lisa Greenfield
