Capricorn New Moon/New Year – Survival Lies

Thank you for your patience with the timing of this post. Mars retrograde has me in slow motion, but here we are—ready to dive into this New Moon and its message for the New Year.

Let’s begin with an uncomfortable truth: lies are among the most sophisticated survival tools. They transcend brute force, relying instead on strategy, skill, and positioning to ensure safety. Think of them as the mental equivalent of a pufferfish inflating or a cat arching its back—an instinctive attempt to appear less vulnerable. This New Moon activates a set of transits, including a challenging aspect between Mercury and Neptune, to expose the truths hidden within our lies. And those truths are our life line and key to thriving in the coming year.  Which means you definitely want to know what and where they are within YOU.

Jupiter in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius amplify multidimensional thinking. For some of us, this can feel overwhelming, like mental circuits overloaded. Here’s a hint: grounding practices are essential right now. Uranus dips into Gemini for part of this year, offering us a taste of mental upgrades, only to retreat back into Taurus to help us integrate and stabilize these shifts.  There is so much DATA coming online.  Which means you want to know how to filter out what works for you and what is just, well, more.

So, aren’t we supposed to be talking about the New Moon? Yes, and its message is clear: begin as you mean to go. Speak your truth and say it like you mean it. Sounds simple, right? But fear prefers the status quo because it feels safer in the familiar. Here’s the kicker—that’s another lie.

The only real safety in this transformative year lies in understanding your internal operating system, including those sneaky little lies you tell yourself to feel secure. Moment by moment, you’ll have access to the data, resources, and opportunities you need to thrive. Trying to plan too far ahead? It’s likely to backfire. By all means, set goals—plan that trip, map out that project—but hold your plans loosely. Adjust as needed and keep curiosity close when life reroutes or delays you. Those redirects help you map out your inner resources that operating on autopilot would never reveal.

Mars opposing Pluto adds another layer of complexity, tempting us to vent our frustrations onto others when things don’t go as planned. Here’s a crucial reminder: the moment your happiness hinges on someone else doing what you want, when you want it, you’re basically screwed. We all know this, yet it’s so easy to fall into the trap of trying to control the external world. And when it works, we double down—until it doesn’t. External control is a short-lived spiral that ultimately leads to a bitter end and an inner reckoning.

Lying, at its core, is one of the most evolved survival responses. It’s tactical and deceptive, rooted in the instinct to navigate a predatory world where danger lurks. But remember: lying is a survival mechanism. While it may protect you in the moment, it’s not a place where you can truly thrive. Survival is the ceiling, and thriving requires something much greater—truth, clarity, and trust in the process of change. Mars opposite Pluto is like a Phoenix rising out of the ashes of your past.  But you have to face, feel and release those limitations.  Mastery is a skill you can only acquire by doing.

This year invites us to release what no longer serves us in a profound way, creating space for what truly does. It’s a massive shift, yes, but it’s also an opportunity to evolve beyond survival into something richer, deeper, and infinitely more aligned. So, I invite you to thrive more this year.  And the best way to do that is to know yourself.  2025 is a nine year and the number for mastery.

But this is a year of SELF mastery.  Which means you get extra support to help you do just that. Capricorn New Moon 11/30/2024

Mind:  Queen of Cups

Give your mind some love—it works hard, with all its busy thoughts and strategic untruths. When we judge something, we bind ourselves to its energy until we consciously release it from a place of neutrality. Can you appreciate the fabrications your mind has spun, crafted to protect you or bring you closer to what you desired? When we choose love, we step away from judgment. And in that space, we can exchange the small container of a lie for a larger one—a truth that holds and serves us better.

But first, we must untangle the web of fear that led us to those lies. The first quarter of this year invites self-discovery and self-acceptance, so we can release what belongs to the past and free ourselves in the present. Start by making it safe to see the lies. Gently direct your mind to identify all the spaces where you’re tied to people, places, or things by the fraying threads of untruth. Treat those tender spots with care, like softening old leather with balm to prevent it from crumbling. Offer gratitude for how these strategies served you once, then release them.

From there, look for a path forward, one step at a time, to replace outdated lies with enduring truths that connect you to what you truly love. Gradually, you’ll build a solid foundation—rooted in the present, not the past. The freedom that comes with this is astonishing. When fear attempts to weave new lies, it won’t succeed because the truth will feel so much better. And as the path clears, abundance and good fortune are ready and waiting for you to receive them.

Body:  King of Cups

This card embodies magic—the masculine energy of the King blending with the feminine flow of Cups to create alchemy. Masculine and feminine together spark new life, and this synergy empowers transformation. By staying focused on your essential tasks with a kind, steady gaze—especially when facing the remnants of survival-driven thinking—you unlock magic. You find yourself moving further than ever before, one solid choice at a time, without triggering the alarm bells of your survival instincts.

Once you’ve surpassed your old limits, you can’t unlearn the truth: it’s possible to go further safely. This knowledge reshapes your approach, allowing you to navigate survival urges with patience, kindness, and curiosity. Those old urges will come up and you can master them.  When you make conscious, loving choices, you create space for extraordinary things to unfold—as if by magic.

Heart:  Page of cups

The Page of Cups invites us to explore our inner state of being—the emotional landscape that forms our actions. By tuning into your feelings and allowing space for all emotions to surface without judgment, you achieve mastery. Mastery doesn’t mean dismissing external authority but seeing it in its proper scale and keeping your balance, even in the face of unwelcome information. From there, you can shape circumstances into something that serves you, even if it simply redirects you to new opportunities.

Emotions, like waves, come in layers. Don’t rush to the surface solution; instead, linger in curiosity. The more you practice sitting with your feelings, the more you expand your capacity for change—building connections that link us all. Intuition plays a growing role this year and next, much like a “worldwide web” of consciousness. To navigate it effectively, clean your inner data field by leading with your heart.

Judgment and criticism, as tools for self-protection, no longer serve us. Instead, approach the New Year with your heart in the driver’s seat. When in doubt, ask yourself, “What would love do?” If you stray off course, circle back—it’s all part of the practice. This heart-centered approach doesn’t make life dull; it sweetens even the most challenging moments, making them bearable and transformative.

Spirit:  Three of cups

The Three of Cups emphasizes communication and connection. One benefit unspooling this year hints at the expanding possibilities of telepathy, lucid dreaming, and other forms of intuitive connection. If this intrigues you, check out The Telepathy Tapes by Ky Dickens, which offers a glimpse into this emerging reality. Some are already tapping into these gifts in a community called “The Hill,” where the entry fee is honesty and respect—two qualities worth cultivating as we prepare for what’s ahead.

The next two years will shape the coming decades in ways we can’t yet comprehend, and each of us has a role to play. The more we cultivate self-mastery, the more impactful our contributions become. By understanding and embracing your unique gifts—and measuring them by the right standards—you’ll step out of narrow limitations and into a greater field of play.

Curiosity about yourself is key. Join me for a live call where we’ll explore how to access and navigate the full spectrum of your gifts. This work doesn’t have to feel heavy—it can be playful and energizing. As you do the inner work, the world will meet you with dazzling opportunities. Be ready to receive them, and prepare to be amazed by what’s possible when we step into our full potential.

Wishing you well, always and looking forward to the conversation when you join me!

terrific post. Lisa. when I see you Sunday I’ll mention my intention for the year — commitment. This past year was risk. The years before we’re balance improve and harmony.
